A Week Full of Blessings

This week has been a great week! Lots to celebrate!

I am enjoying my new job. The first three weeks have been all about acclimating to the new job. Learning about all the different aspects and responsibilities. This last week, I have been assigned to multiple projects. I am even getting to take part in a workshop this next week, which is a great way to learn more about the company!

Wednesdays are days I have started to look forward to the most! During lunch on Wednesdays, I get to fellowship with other women that are believers. This last Wednesday was a time to get to know one another while we planted herbs. (1st and 2nd pictures above) We got to choose from a variety of herbs. I picked lavender and rosemary.

Did you know that…

Lavender = Devotion

Rosemary = Remembrance

I knew flowers had different meanings, but I did not know that herbs had different meanings as well.

After Wednesday, I got inspired by planting these herbs. I decided that I wanted some greenery for my desk at work. Just a short trip to Hobby Lobby and I was able to get supplies to create a terrarium. (3rd pic) All the greenery is fake. I still think it livens up my desk. A couple of my coworkers made hilarious comments:

  1. I love young people. They do all the cool stuff.
  2. Are you moving in?

No, obviously I am not moving in at work. I have lots of stuff on my desk because it can be a great conversation starter. I want to be able to get to know the people where I am working.

Lastly, the bonus to working where I am is there is a Starbucks blocks from the office. When we had a cold front come through, of course I needed to go get a hot drink. (last pic) Lol!

Hope y’all are having a marvelous weekend!

Until next time…

Yoga and Oils

During the summer, my exercise of choice is always yoga. I rotate between YouTube yoga videos and my app by Gaiam, inc.

My two resources for yoga:Yoga with Adriene and Yoga Studio App

Yes, the app is $3.99. Compared to paying for yoga classes, this is a steal! I love how you can schedule classes for your entire week, and it syncs to your calendar.

Also, I use essential oils during my yoga sessions. What essential oils do I use?

For me personally, I put the serenity blend or lavender oil on before doing yoga.

Essential oils for Yoga:
Hawaiian Sandalwood, Sandalwood, or Cedarwood for diffusing in the air

Serenity is a great doTERRA blend for relaxation. Contains these oils: lavender, sweet marjoram, roman chamomile, ylang ylang, sandalwood, & vanilla bean extract.

A Cold in May

It is never fun to come down with a cold, especially in the warmer months of the year. Most all of my colds used to turn into sinus infections until I started using doterra oils.

How I have beat my colds with homeopathic treatments:

  1. On Guard – this is doterra’s proprietary blend for immune support
    • I take the beadlets.
    • I use my own homemade toothpaste that I made with the On Guard oil blend and lemon oil.- Recipe Here (This toothpaste is for oil pulling.)
    • I also use doterra’s On Guard toothpaste.
  2. Oregano oil capsule – I take twice a day.
  3. ZICAM
    • I take the melts every 3 hours.
    • Last dose of ZICAM before bed, I use a swab.

Diffuser Recipes

  1. Cold/Flu Bomb:
    • 1-2 drop of Melaleuca
    • 1-2 drop of Oregano
    • 1-2 drop of On Guard
    • 1 extra drop of Lemon because Oregano and Melaleuca are strong!!

For me, the symptoms that hang on are usually enough drainage to affect my ears, and I get that fun tickle in the back of my throat.

2. For my ears:
– 1-2 drops of Lavender
– 1-2 drops of Melaleuca
– 1-2 drops of Basil

For the tickle in my throat:

  • Peppermint beadlets
  • TriEase
  • Peppermint oil in a roller bottle – I can apply directly to my throat or put behind my ears.

I hope these tips help you to stay healthy all year round!
