What To Do

Announcing the last blog post in this series ‘What To Do’!

This Friday I will post the last post in this series. It has been amazing how sharing about life with you has caused a ripple effect in my life.

Personally, I have been more joyful and busy with everyday life. More vocal and involved on social media.

Thank you for letting me share my ramblings. Giving you ideas on ‘What To Do’.

As an introvert, this new time of life that we have found ourselves in has been somewhat easy for me. I still miss seeing my friends and family. I am going a little bit stir crazy myself. This is partly of my own doing…lol!

My Next Series – Wellness

As we move forward with our lives, there is going to be a new normal in everyday living.

It is important that we do not live in fear. There is a lot to be done for our physical, emotional, and mental well being.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

My last post from my ‘What To Do’ series will post this Friday after 5:30PM CST.

Until then…

Bird Watching

The cooler weather has been incredible. I have taken advantage!

Yesterday, I sat outside for about 20mins watching a family of cardinals hanging out around the bird feeders in the backyard.

Cardinals are so so pretty! The male always wakes me up around 6AM singing his little heart out. Every single day I’m thinking, ‘How can you be so perky without caffeine?’. Really?!?

When I was sitting outside today, I saw a blue heron fly on by.

Take some time to enjoy the little things around you like the flowers and the birds.

My mom’s rose bushes have exploded. So beautiful! Wanted to share.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Until next time…

Go, enjoy the outdoors!

Happy May everyone!

Personally, I am not a ‘go for walk’ kind of person unless I am at the park with friends and/or family. I do love walking trails.

I am more than content to hang out in the backyard with the dogs.

As summer is approaching, I encourage you to enjoy the weather before it gets super hot outside (speaking as a Texan).

Until next time…

Create a Playlist

I love listening to my music, and I really enjoy creating my own playlists.

Creating a playlists for music legitimately can take a chunk of time. Let me walk you through my process.

I think about these questions.

  1. What type of playlist do you want to create? Do you want your music to be just one genre? Do you want there to be a theme?
  2. How many songs do you want there to be – 25/50/100? In my opinion, the longer the better.
  3. Once I decide genre or theme, I start scrolling through my library and adding songs.
  4. I can get lost doing this. It can take up to an hour or so to add all the songs that I desire into one playlist.

Steps for Creating a New Playlist in iTunes

1.ย  Open iTunes

2. To create a new playlist – Go to File > New > (Click on) Playlist

4. Name your playlist

5. Once you name your playlist, it is automatically added under ‘Music Playlists’ under the left side panel.

6. Now, click on the playlist name.

7. (Optional Step) I suggest clicking on the blue circle with 3 centered dots (to the right of the playlist name). Select the ‘Open in New Window’. Then you can drag and drop songs/albums into your playlist.

8. If you do not want to open your blank playlist in a new window, you can continue to select/add music by left clicking and adding to your new playlist, or you can drag and drop to the playlist name on the left side panel.

Podcasts

Some days I prefer listening to podcasts rather than my music.

Did you know you can create a playlist for your podcasts?

It is the same steps as above to create a new playlist for listening to your podcasts.

Hope you have some fun creating some new playlists!

One Day At A Time

Happy Friday everyone!

I have enjoyed writing this series. I had a handful of ideas left to write about and realized each post would amount to a few minuscule blog posts.ย  That is why I chose to combine them into one post. When I saw that this would my tenth post, I thought this would be a great way to end this series.

More Ideas for ‘What To Do’

Breakfast

Normally, the limited amount of time before the work day begins provides little time to fix a nutritious breakfast. Usually, I would grab and go. What about you? Now, there is plenty of time to fix a normal breakfast.

ย

Reading

When you work a normal 9 to 5 job, there is not as much time to allow for reading. How many books do have on a ‘To Read’ or ‘Want to Read’ list? Now there is a little bit more time to catch up and read some of the books that you have on your list.

Audiobooks

Personally, I spend a lot of time working on the computer.

My prefered method of reading is on a device like my Kindle. When my eyes are tired after a long day of work, the last thing I really want to do is look at another screen so I listen to audiobooks.

ย

Play Games

Have more game nights. There are tons of card and board games to be played.

My top favorites:

  1. Skip-bo
  2. Clue (There is also a Downton Abbey version of Clue.)
  3. Sequence
  4. Gin Rummy

iPhone/iPad games

I have my normal games that I play on my iPhone and iPad.

  1. Angry Birds – any version
  2. Asphalt 9 – easier to play on an iPhone
  3. Covet
  4. Design Home
  5. SimCity
  6. Legendary – Yes, this is an RPG game. Bottom line, if you like matching games with deeper strategy I highly recommend it.

I encourage you to take each day one at a time. Keep moving forward and don’t stress. Hope this series has given you some ideas for ‘What To Do’.

I was inspired to created a simple, bright, and cheery design piece to add to my Motivation Collective store.

Tea or Coffee?

I love taking time for tea. Gives me the time to sit and relax.

Taking a tea or coffee break helps to give your brain a break, which results in less stress.

I encourage you mid-morning and mid-afternoon to try and take a tea or coffee breakโ˜•๏ธ for at least fifteen minutes.

  1. Sit in a quiet place
  2. Take time to slowly sip
  3. Breathe in and breathe out
